What Christina Said

I rarely feedback or give reviews on items I buy, and this is certainly the case for everyday items like jam!  However, I feel I must in this instance.

I bought a tub of Anathoth Strawberry Jam about two months ago because it was on special and I thought I'd give it a try.  Oh. my. goodness.  It was mind blowing.  I am not joking.  I have NEVER tasted store-bought jam that could without a doubt pass for home-made jam.  It was incredible.  Everyone in the household adored it.  Needless to say, the tub was finished within a couple of weeks.

I thought it was too good to be true, so to test my theory I bought a tub of Rhubarb Red Berry.  Ooh-la-la!  Veeeerry nice.

Could it be real?  Last week we tried Apricot - wow.  Definitely a favourite.  Is it better than the Strawberry?  Can't compare.  They're on the same level of deliciousness but they're two completely different beings.

This week I bought the Lemon Curd.  It took every ounce of my willpower to pick it up of the shelf and place it in my trolley.  I think it was few years back that I swore I would never buy store-bought lemon curd.  Ever. Again.  Every store-bought lemon curd I had ever tried had tasted like dishwashing detergent thickened with what seemed as much cornflour will chemically mix in without the whole dang lot turning to powder.

But...this was it.  If any product was going to prove the Anathoth name, this was the one. This Anathoth curd would decide my fate.  If it was good, I'd never buy another brand of jam again.  The following morning, with freshly-made toast in hand, I sat down in anticipation of what was to come.  The tub of lemon curd sat waiting.  I opened the lid, peeled back the silver foil and saw the promise of lemony goodness glistening from beneath.  As I dipped my knife beneath the silken surface I held my breath.  Cripes.  The texture.  Not like rubbery jelly or hardened custard.  Glossy.  Lustrous.  Spreading beautifully over the warm surface of the toast.  Now, to taste.  I took the first crunchy bite... Oh sweet, glorious nectar.  Bursts of soft lemon sunshine streamed through my consciousness.  Every bite was unbelievable.  Mamma mia.

These last few months have been a time of revelation.  A series of light bulb moments.  I  will now be shunning every other brand in favour of these miraculous jams, preserves, condiments - whatever you'd like to call them.

They are AMAZING - every single one.  I can't wait to try them all.  If you're not already considering sending some of your other products here to Australia - please do!  I have never tasted anything like your jams (and I can't wait to try the chutneys and relishes!).

Thank you for providing such wonderful products.  Please keep up the great work and get ready for a peak in consumer demand.  I will be making sure that as many people as I can physically tell about Anathoth products start buying as much of your products as they can get their hands on.
